Anillos Ice Cream – Ice Cream Rings
El otro día estaba Marta terminando un anillo de la colección Ice Cream, y aproveché para volver a meter la cámara un poquito en medio… Así que aquí podéis ver un poco del proceso de cómo se trabaja el anillo ya fundido, preparándolo y dándole textura para luego montar la piedra del sabor elegido. ¡Espero que os guste este “robado”!

Las 4 Cs de los diamantes – The 4 Cs of Diamonds
Y puede que sí, que los diamantes no sean más que trozos de carbono que han mejorado por unas condiciones concretas de presión y temperatura, pero realmente son unas piedras alucinantes, y si tenéis alguno o los habéis visto bien de cerca, sabéis de lo que hablo. Y esta belleza está claramente clasificada siguiendo los siguientes baremos.
And it might be so, that diamonds aren’t just but pieces of carbon that have improved under certain circumstances of pressure and temperature; but they are really amazing gemstones. And if you have one, or have seen diamonds close enough, you know what we are talking about. And this beauty is clearly classified based on the following scale.
Hay 4 características de los diamantes que hacen de estas piedras algo excepcional; se conocen como las 4 Cs (por sus nombres en inglés):
CARAT → Peso
CUT → Talla
COLOR → Color
CLARITY → Pureza
There are 4 main characteristics that make diamonds extraordinary, and the are known as the 4 Cs:

Peso
El peso de los diamantes se mide en quilates (1 quilate = 0,2 gramos) y es el criterio más determinante en el precio.
Weigh
Diamonds are weighed in carats (1 carat = 0,2 grams) and it is the most decisive element when determining the price.
Talla
Los diamantes se pueden tallar en varias formas, para conseguir el máximo brillo y destellos únicos en la piedra. La forma más conocida es la talla brillante. La simetría y el equilibrio de las facetas y las líneas en la talla es la garantía para una belleza excepcional.
Cut
Diamonds can be cut in several shapes, in order to bring up the maximum shine and the distinctive sparkle of the stone. The most common one, is the brilliant cut. Simetry, and balance of lines and facets assures an exceptional beauty.
Color
Los diamantes tienen una gama de color desde el transparente hasta el amarillo suave. Cuanto más blanco sea el color de la piedra, más valioso será el diamante. Se clasifican desde calidad D (blanco excepcional) hasta Z (con color).
También existen diamantes de colores, negro, azul, rojo, etc. que no se miden por esta escala
Color
Diamonds range from colorless to light yellow in color. The whiter the stone, the more appreciated it is. They range from color D (exceptional white) to Z (colored).
There are also colored diamonds; black, blue, red, etc. that aren’t graded using this scale.
Pureza
La pureza se refiere a la presencia o no de inclusiones en el diamante, que son simplemente fracturas en la estructura u otros minerales que aparecen cuando el diamante se está formando. Pueden tener el aspecto de pequeños cristales, nubes o plumas entre otros.
La clasificación va de los FL (Flawless, sin defectos visibles con lupa de hasta 10 aumentos) hasta I3 (Imperfect, con inclusiones visibles a simple vista)
Clarity
Clarity is a description of the internal purity of diamonds, and considers if they have internal fractures of if there are other mineral structure in the stones. They can look like small crystals, clouds, feathers, etc.
The scale ranges from F (flawless, no inclusions or blemishes, using a 10X magnifying glass) to I3 (Imperfect, inclusions that can be seen even without a magnifying glass)

Día de puertas abiertas en Boro Maré – Open doors day at Boro Maré
El jueves pasado se celebró un día de puertas abiertas en la tienda Boro Maré (Luchana, 34), punto de encuentro de los autónomos del barrio de Chamberí. Y una vez más, Coderque Jewels, se sumó al evento.
Last Thursday they held an open door day at Boro Maré (Luchana, 34, Madrid) headquarter of the good vibes of Chamberí. And once again, Coderque Jewels, took part in it.
Empezando por Boro Maré, la propia tienda, que es ya un pequeño tesoro. Tiene una ropa preciosa que Lola, la dueña, elige personalmente y con mucho cariño en Paris; junto con una colección de prendas vintage y de complementos. Podéis echar un vistazo a su página de Facebook aquí.

Fue un día la mar de divertido, que como en otras ocasiones sirve para dar a conocer el trabajo de muchos artistas, todos autónomos, que se esfuerzan mucho para conseguir llegar a la gente con su trabajo, a pesar de todas las dificultades que hay actualmente. Y también para tomarnos un vinito a vuestra salud, que cura el alma.
It was a very fun day, and it was a great opportunity to get to know the work of several artist, all of them self-employed, who work really hard to reach more and more people everyday with their work, despite the hard times we are going through. And to have a little glass of wine, that can heal the soul.

En abril, anillos mil – April showers bring May rings.
En abril, anillos mil. Ah, ¡si teóricamente no son anillos, sino aguas! Y aunque hoy no esté lloviendo, parece que la primavera se está haciendo la dura, ¡con las ganas que tenemos de que llegue ya! Así que en Coderque Jewels nos proponemos caldear un poco estos días con fotos de nuestras colecciones, simplemente, porque son bonitas y alegran la vista.

And even though it’s not raining today, it seems springs is playing hard to get, and we want her to stay so badly! So we, at Coderque Jewels, want to warm up these days with nice photos from our collection, just because they are beautiful and brighten the view.
Estos son los dos anillos de la colección Bosque, realizados de forma artesanal en plata con un baño de oro de 18 kt. La piedra morada es una original amatista en bruto y la clara un cuarzo verde, también sin tallar. Una preciosa combinación de colores, que se pueden usar juntos, por separado o combinados con otros.
